CONSUMER EDUCATION

Prerequisite: None
Consumer Education covers business organization, consumer rights and responsibilities, use of credit, family record keeping, investments and income.
ACCOUNTING I
Grades: 10 -12
Length Year
Prerequisite: None
Accounting covers fundamental accounting principles, journals, ledgers, bank statements and other elements.
ACCOUNTING II
Grades: 11-12
Length: Year
Prerequisite: Accounting I
Accounting II covers advanced accounting principles including departmental, corporate, cost and management accounting. Course may be taken for 3 hours of college credit though Central Community College.
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Grades: 9-11
Length: Year
Prerequisite: None
Computer Applications covers word processing, spreadsheets, database, merging documents, desktop publishing and presentation software. The skills of formatting, merging, using spreadsheet formulas, creating database files, manipulating a desktop publishing document, and designing a Power Point presentation are taught.
ADVANCED COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

Prerequisite: Computer Applications
Advanced Computer Applications is designed to build the student!=s computer skills. Students will increase their skill using word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
BUSINESS LAW
Grades: 10-12
Length: Semester
Prerequisite: None
Business Law is a one-semester course. Legal terms, torts, contracts and bailments along with cases will be covered in this course.
DIVERSIFIED OCCUPATIONS

Diversified Occupations is designed to help students prepare for the world of work. A student must be currently employed in or near the Albion city limits. Various employment skills are developed cooperatively on the work site and through class activities.
ECONOMICS
Grades: 11-12

Economics is a one-semester class. The class will cover several economic issues that influence all individuals. These issues include basic economic principles, the American business structure, measuring economic performance, GNP and fiscal policy, monetary policy, and international trade.
OFFICE PROCEDURES

Prerequisite: Computer Applications
Office Procedures is a one-semester course. A combination of many office skills such as the 10-key pad, telephone technique, and filing are a few of the activities that will be incorporated in this class.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Grades: 10-12
Length: Year
Prerequisite: Must complete Consumer Education first
This course will expose students to all aspects of a real business operation. Students will write business plans, develop and maintain accurate bookkeeping records, write publicity articles and create advertisements. Students will develop skills in human relations (scheduling training of employees) and public relations (customer service, informational presentations)
