INTRODUCTION TO WOODWORKING
Grades: 9-10
Length: Year
Prerequisite: None
This class will consist of drafting, tool identification, machine use and safety, general shop safety, and various woodworking concepts. One or two small projects will be required and smaller projects of the student's choosing will be completed if time allows.
ADVANCED WOODWORKING TECHNOLOGY
Grades: 10-12
Length: Year
Prerequisite: Intro to Woodworking. Limited to 12 students.
This class will cover project planning, tool and shop maintenance, and will require the building of a larger project or projects. Students must have completed Introduction to Woodworking before this class can be taken.
HOME MAINTENANCE
Grades: 10-12
Length: Semester
Prerequisite: None. Limited to 12 students.
This class covers the many areas of maintenance and repair that can be done within the home. Classroom work and shop lab projects are both incorporated for instruction in this class.
ELECTRICITY
Grades: 10-12
Length: Semester
Prerequisite: None. Limited to 12 students.
This class covers all the basics of electricity as well as areas in residential wiring. Classroom work and lab assignments are both incorporated for instruction.
COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING
Grades: 10-12
Length: Year
Prerequisite: Intro to Woodworking. Limited to 10 students.
This class will cover all areas of computer-aided drafting (CAD). Students must have completed Introduction to Woodworking before this class can be taken.
CONSTRUCTION
Grade: 12
Length: Year
Prerequisite: Introduction to Woodworking and Advanced Woodworking Technology and approval of instructor. Limited to 12 students.
Students will cover areas of construction through classroom assignments and hands-on construction projects. To take this class a student must have completed both Introduction to Woodworking and Advanced Woodworking Technology and have instructor approval.
