Athlete Standards

CONDUCT AT SCHOOL SPORTING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES Conduct at school events should follow basic standards of common sense and respect for the program and the participants. The Mid-State Conference has adopted a Code of Conduct for all Mid-State activities. While it is intended primarily for athletic contests, there is application to other spectator events as well.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MID-STATE CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES
1. Respect your opponent
(a) Cheer for your team, not against your opponent
(b) Make sure your conduct does not hinder an opponent!=s performance
2. Respect yourself and your school
(a) Maintain your self-control at all times
(b) No abusive or profane language
(c) Report behavior that is unbecoming to you and your school
3. Respect all school property
(a) Do not stomp on gym bleachers
(b) Use proper trash receptacles
(c) Leave school property as you found it
(d) Do not walk on gym floors with street shoes
4. Give game officials and school personnel proper respect

As a member school of the Mid-State Conference, we will follow and enforce this code of conduct at home and away events when Boone Central is participating. During musical and dramatic performances, the audience should remain quiet and seated during the entire performance. Out of courtesy to the performers, students should remain in their seats until intermission or the conclusion of the performance. Intermissions are scheduled for longer programs.
