REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Students may register for the ACT two different ways. The first option is to log on to www.actstudent.org and create a student account. This requires a credit card to pay for the registration and is the quickest and easiest way to register.
The second option is for students to complete the paper/pencil registration packet. These packets can be picked up from the Guidance Office. The registration packet must be postmarked by the registration deadline to avoid paying the late fee charge.
THE ACT ASSESSMENT PLUS WRITING OPTION
ACT has added a 30-minute Writing Test as an optional component to the ACT Assessment for students applying to college the fall of 2006 or later. The ACT Writing Test complements the ACT English Test. The combined results from both tests provide information about the students' understanding of the conventions of standard written English and students' ability to produce a direct sample of writing.
Taking the Writing Test does not affect a student's scores on the four multiple-choice tests or the composite score.
Students need to check with the colleges they plan to attend for specific requirements about the scores needed for entrance. Most Nebraska schools are NOT requiring the Writing test.
SCORE REPORTING
Students can expect ACT scores about 4-7 weeks after they tested. Scores are mailed to their home, the Guidance Office, and posted online. To access the scores online, go to www.actstudent.org. Students need not register online to see their scores online. If students have not yet created an account, they can do so at this time to view their scores.
