childhood: This page is filled with information and reminders for parents.  If you ever have a question about anything that is happening in school, please just ask.


littleapple: Snack Time
Every afternoon we have snack time. If you would like to help out with snacks please send something with your child.  Snacks should be simple, prepackaged, easy for you to send and quick to eat. A quick, easy, nutritional snack might include: gram crackers, animal crackers, cheese crackers, packaged cookies, fruit snacks, etc.  If possible, please send another box of snacks at the beginning of each month.  Thank you so much!  We know the children enjoy it. Please let us know if your child has any allergies.

littleapple: Drop Off and Pick Up
When dropping off your son or daughter in the morning for school, please have them line up outside the kindergarten doors on the south side of the building. This way they will be able to all come in together. If students are eating breakfast at school, please continue to drop them off at the front doors. The time for Kindergarten is 8:00-3:05. There is no need for students to arrive before 7:55 unless they are eating breakfast. If children arrive after school begins, they need to report to the office, as the kindergarten doors will be locked. Students can then be picked up outside the kindergarten doors on the south side of the building at 3:05.

littleapple: Birthdays
We celebrate birthdays and your child is welcome to bring special treats for that day to eat. Some ideas would be cookies, crackers, carrot sticks, etc. Please do not send a cake or cupcakes as they can cause a mess in the classroom. Candy will be sent home to eat. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in May.

littleapple: Library
Each child will be able to check out 1 book at a time from the school library. It then needs to be returned to check out another. Help your child to care for the book and keep it in a special spot where it is easily found. As soon as your child has enjoyed the book at home, please return it with your child so another one may be checked out. Remember that children love to hear a story over and over so please keep the book at home and reread it for at least a few days before returning it. We will get new books when we have library. Please check the calendar to see when library days are.

littleapple: Notes and Money
Any time a note is returned to school, please make sure it has your child's name on it. Please send any money, including lunch money, in an envelope marked with your child's name. The children drop these returned items in a basket and without a name there is a real mix-up. Also, please mark what it is for.
