Red Devil Football By: Annie Brabec
Now that it is finally football season, everyone is excited. The players are already pumped, and coaches are anticipating the season. When passing through the hallways of Clarkson High, you'll always hear something about football; whether it be about an opponent, yesterday's practice, or the next game, there's always something. Upon the arrival of football season and anticipation for the first game, I interviewed the Clarkson football head coach, Mr. Jim Clarkson. Coach Clarkson sees St. Francis, Dodge, and High Plains as major rivals for the team. He said, "St. Francis, Dodge, and High Plains are all very good teams. St. Francis and Dodge are traditional powers which we look foward to playing." Coach Clarkson then spoke of the challenges that Clarkson may face. He added, "We need to make sure that we stay focused on each and every game." Coach Clarkson went on to talk about the players whom great things can be expected from. "Any of the seniors are worth watching at any time, and at any time, any one of them could do something special." In addition, Coach Clarkson talked about his experience being the head football coach in Clarkson. He said, "It has been great being here. The community is a good place to be and it is great being a Red Devil." The Red Devils are anticipating a great season this year, and what better way to show your support than to come down to the football field, or travel with the team to away games, and yell "GO, FIGHT, WIN!"
