7th Grade Music

Back to basics has been our theme in 7th grade music. We are reading notes, writing rhythms and learning how to actually compose our own melodies using the facts we have learned. The students are amazed to find out that music and math are not far apart and math helps them with rhythm in music. Reading notes is using spelling. The 7th graders will share their vocal ablities with the community when they perform at the Christmas concert on Dec. 21st in the St. Francis gym. They are anxiously awaiting the start of the christmas season in the chorus room and that will be here before we are ready.
