Trip Pricing Information

Trip billing has begun through Educational Discovery Tours (EDT).  Here is some information on the accounts in use for this.

  • EDT is billing the entire amount to be paid in monthly installments.
    • For Students that is $1073 per student (for triple/quad occupancy hotel rooms)
      • By August, Fundraising money will be deposited into each students account.
        • At least $65 per student plus other monies based on the student's level of participation in the fundraiser.
      • The final payment (due in August) of $193 will be made by the boosters and is not the responsibility of the students.
    • Actual student responsibility for the trip is $818
    • For Adults that is $1234 per adult (for double occupancy hotel rooms)
      • Student fundraiser monies are only being used for students.
      • The booster's are responsible for deciding how to apply their donation beyond the $193 payment per student.
  • For that price all travelers get:
    • All transportation to, from, and in San Antonio (including gratuities).
    • 3 nights in the hotel
    • Entrance fees to the following:
      • Alamo Bowl
      • IMAX Theatre
      • Six Flags over Texas Theme Park
      • River Barge Cruise
      • Hemisphere Tower of Americas Observation Deck and 4D Theater
      • Awards Ceremony Dance
    • 4 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 3 Dinners
      • Including Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe or comparable venue
      • Catered Dinner at the Awards Ceremony
      • Meal Voucher at the Bowl Game
    • 1 EDT Trip Leader per motor coach 24 hours a day while in San Antonio
  • Student Fundraising through 3 years of Gold Card Sales and 1 WFC Candy Bars Sales totals $19,000.
    • $4000 is being used to purchase the additional marching equipment (mellophones and marching baritones) necessary to equip the band that has grown from 120 members to 155 members in one year.
    • $5000 is allocated to specific student accounts based on their level of participation in the fundraisers.
    • $10,000 is being divided equally among all students going on the trip (~$65 per student).
  • The CHS Band Boosters set a goal of donating $30,000 towards the Trip.  That donation will occur in October following CMF
  • The final Gold Card fundraiser will occur during Camp the end of July, beginning of August.
    • Gold cards will be Sold for $10 per card.  Students will earn $5 per card for their individual accounts at that time.
  • There are eight staff members going on the trip at no cost.
    • Band Director, Assistant Band Director, School Administrator, Truck Driver, Color Guard Tech, Woodwind Tech, Brass Tech, and Percussion Tech.
      • All four tech workers will assist the band throughout marching season in exchange for their comped trip.
  • There are Six Male and Eleven Female Chaperones going on the trip who must also pay full price (bless their hearts).
  • There are currently 5 adult guests and room for 1 more also going on the trip with the band.
