Last update: 08/28/07  Start Planning Now:  The World Premiere of Synergies is coming up May 6, 2008 On May 6, 2008 the Columbus Middle School Eighth Grade Band will be performing the World Premiere of Synergies.  This brand new composition was commissioned by the CMS Bands in 2005 and written by Robert Sheldon, who will be on hand to conduct the premiere. From the Composer:  "I decided on the name "Synergies" since it seems to work well with a subtitle "City of Power and Progress", and I liked the plurality of it since the term deals with people working together cooperatively - the citizens of Columbus as they work toward development of the community, and the band members working together to create a musical performance. " This grade 2.5 composition is currently under consideration for publication in the 2008 Alfred Publishing Catalog.  This historic event will take place at Columbus High School in the Nantkes Auditorium.  Please plan to attend.
