Guidelines for a Successful Year in Fifth Grade

About Home

We hope to continue the development of responsibility and independence in the learning process.

Every student should come to school prepared for the day. Homework needs to be handed in on time. Homework is not punishment, but a necessary reinforcement of lessons that have been taught.

A student should listen to and follow directions in all areas of class time.

We will continue to develop and practice acceptable social skills with teachers and classmates.

Reading must be a part of everyday life. Students need to have independent reading at home as well as in school. Accelerated reading is part of our reading curriculum, but as a supplement to our program.

We want our students to fully participate at Mass and to be well prepared when it is their turn for readings.
