Mission
To build an effective,
coordinated system for preparing, supporting and recognizing the early
childhood care and education workforce in order to provide high quality
programs for young children and their families.

PURPOSE
All areas of Nebraska are served by regional training partnerships working to support professional development for early childhood caregivers/teachers in inclusive home, center and school based-programs.  These partnerships are awarded grant funds to assist collaborative efforts to achieve high quality, affordable, accessible training for all those who work with young children and their families.  The Early Childhood Professional Development Partnerships were developed out of a commitment from the NDE offices of Early Childhood, Special Education, the Head Start State Collaboration Office and Early Childhood Training Center.  This included funding a full-time paid coordinator in each area to provide leadership in maintaining the expanding existing partnerships to continue to improve the provision of needed training.

PRIORITY ACTIONS

  • Meet training needs identified in each area
  • Coordinate existing and new training opportunities
  • Collaborate to provide training that is open to staff and parents from all types of early childhood settings
  • Promote professional development and program improvement
  • Increase the use of technology to facilitate collaboration and professional development
  • Support the Nebraska Framework for Early Childhood Professional Development
