Classroom policies
This is an overall view of the basic classroom policies for Mr. Stalder. Specific classes may have additional expectations. See Mr. Stalder if you have questions
Expectations:
1. Respect yourself, others, and all property.
2. Be on time.
3. Remain in your seat.
4. Be prepared for class. This means that you are
expected to bring your textbook and notebook
every day.
5. Follow all instructions the first time.
6. Obey all school rules and follow handbook
policies.
Failure to live up to these expectations will result in a verbal warning or 15 minute detention to be served the same day. Detentions will be served at 3:10 PM the same day. Extra-curricular activities and/or jobs will not excuse the student from the detention. Seniors will serve detentions at 3:10, not during homeroom. As students, you know what is expected of you and if you choose not to live up to these expectations, you have chosen to accept the consequences. Failure to serve the detention will result in the student being sent to the alternative room the next day. Continued failure to serve the detention will result in a one day in -school suspension. Students who are tardy will not receive a warning and will be expected to serve a 15 minute detention the day the tardy occurred. If you are tardy, bring a pass from the office or from the instructor/administrator who kept you late.
Academic Integrity:
I expect all students to be absolutely honest on all assignments, projects, and tests in this classroom. The penalty for dishonesty is always a 0% on that assignment, project, or test the student chose to cheat on. Dishonesty includes copying (this means the student copying and the student providing the answers), test cheat sheets (one again, both the student using the cheat sheet and the student who supplied it), collusion (AKA "working together". If the assignment is a group project, the instructor will make you aware of it. If in doubt, ask the instructor.)
Late Work:
Late work is unacceptable and will result in a 0%. Assignments are due at the beginning of class.
Extra Help:
The instructor is here to help you and will make arrangements to provide extra assistance. You must ask for help.
Extra Credit:
Extra credit is not an option in this class. Do not even ask. I will, however, allow students to make use of SQRRR notes. Students may take SQRRR notes on each chapter as the class progresses. If the student takes satisfactory SQRRR notes, the student will be allowed to make up any and all test questions missed for 3/5 credit. If the student acheives 100% on a test and has satisfactory SQRRR notes, that student will receive 105% credit on that test.
Grading Policy:
Grades will be figured as follows: Tests = 60% of the grade; Daily assignments = 30% of the grade; Quizzes = 10% of the grade.
Lecture Notes:
The instructor writes notes on the board that he feels are important to the class. In addition, all test questions are addressed in the lecture notes. Therefore students are required to write the lecture notes. Students taking incomplete notes will be assessed a 5 point penalty against their daily score. (This will be assessed against their gross score, not against their percentage.)
