Policies and Procedures for Reading 7 and Reading 8

READING 7 AND READING 8

Since this course is individualized, it is important for you to get yourself organized for the day's work. In order to do this, you must establish a daily routine. Listed below are the steps you should follow:

1. Be on time. You will lose 3 points for being tardy.

2. Take care of equipment. Fines will be charged for abuse of materials and equipment.

3. Return all materials where they belong do that the next group of students can easily find what they need.

4. Leave all outside books on the shelves by the door.

5. Get your file out of the file cabinet. You will need to use this throughout the class period.

6. Check in your Student Manual or on the bulletin board to find your group's schedule for the day. Group days are Tuesday and Friday.

7. Check your Individualized Plan and/or Weekly Reporting Sheet(Blue- sheet) to find out specifically what materials you need. Your vocabulary and rate work is listed on page 18. Your comprehension assignments are on pages 19-23.

8. Pick up the necessary books, tapes, forms, etc. and begin working. Do not write in books, directions tell you where to record your answers

, and forms are provided.

9. Record your day's work, including time spent on each activity, on the Weekly Reporting Sheet(Bluesheet). Be sure to allow a few minutes each day to fill out the Evaluation of your daily progress. Blank blue forms are on top of the file cabinet.

10. Remain in your seat working until you are given permission to put things away.

11. Purchase a spiral notebook(40-70) pages and plan to leave it in your class file.

12. Put your class file in the assigned file drawer at the end of each class period. The file should not be taken from the room.

13. The student will have an assignment book, that will be checked each day, and graded accordingly.
