Class Description for Reading 7 and Reading 8

READING IS FOR ENJOYMENT AND DEVEOLPMENT
This course is designed to improve your reading and study skills and to prepare you for high school work.During the year, you will work in several skill areas:
1. Reading Comprehension
2. Reading Rate
3. Vocabulary
4. Study Skills
5. Content-area reading(Book Reports)
This class will be randomly divided into three groups. Three days per week the student will work independently; two days will be for group instruction and practice. The student will be assigned materials appropriate to their reading ability.
The student will be given a Reading Manual with their own "Individualized Plan". They will be responsible for the manual. The manual and their student folder are to be kept in the room. There will be a $2.00 charge for a replacement copy.
