A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the sixth grade girls on their participation in the Sing Around Nebraska Concert held in Columbus on Saturday, February 16. The students prepared diligently during music class, and put in extra practice time on their own at home. The audience was held spell-bound by 156 area students in grades four through six. Guest conductor was Mr. Larry Decker, of Grand Island Public Schools. His mix of hard work and fun made for a very educational day. One of his comments was "Once an object has stretched, it cannot return to its original shape. So it is with you. You have grown from the experience of this day, and you will never be the same." Needless to say, I am very proud of each of the girls. Mrs. Sara Witt was one of the coordinators, so it made the day just a little more special. A big thank you to the parents and friends who attended the concert.

The elementary music department presented their rendition of "The Nutcracker" for their portion of the Christmas Program for 2007. Along with the usual ballet, the program included a ferocious fight scene between the mice armed with cheese balls and a giant mouse trap cheese ball launcher, and soldiers armed with super soakers and noisy ammunition.
