English 12 is listening to and discussing the musical The Man of La Mancha in class. For homework, students are working on independent projects and four page papers that are due Friday, December 10.
Senior English students are finishing Ten Little Indians They will then be watching some supplemental videos in class and working on their independent reading. They have papers due no later than Wednesday, December 22 (Even if we have snow days, papers are due before vacation.
World History classes have finished watching a video on the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and are presently studying Rome and the Roman Empire. They will spend quite a bit of time on this unit, watching videos, studying supplemental readings, and working on study guides in class. For homework, students should continue to review notes and work on independent projects.
Specific assignments are almost always given in advance, and students are to write them in their planners. If students do not know specific assignments, they are urged to contact me by e-mail or call a classmate. I usually tape class lectures and discussions. Students should have a friend or family member check about taking a tape home or come in before class the next day to listen to the tape. At any rate, it is their responsibility to find out the assignments and to have made every effort to be prepared for class when they return.
