Junior High Reading

Ok, so anyone in this class knows it is actually a grammar class!

Why grammar?  When we first decided to implement a reading class in the Junior High, I thought it would be an awesome job.  Well, since scheduling in a 7-12 district is such a nightmare, it ended up only a quarter class.

One quarter is NOT nearly enough time for reading instruction, and it was too late to change the title of the class.  The decision was made to keep the title Junior High Reading, but use it as a Grammar class.  This freed up a lot of time in my Junior High English class. 

I now do all reading and writing instruction during English class, and all grammar instruction during Reading class.
