Learning for Earning
This year long class is designed for freshmen and sophomores. The course will introduce students to the skills necessary for succeeding on their own and on the job. Units will include communication, relationships, decision making, careers, money management, appearance and grooming, safety, and health and wellness.
Current Activities
Foods and Nutrition
This semester class emphasizes nutrition, fitness, healthy food choices, and wise food buying. Food preparation labs will occur.
Fabric Art
Students will construct quilts, clothing or crafts and study clothing selection and care. Costs are the responsibility of the student.
Housing
This semester course provides instruction in housing selection, upkeep, and interior design.
Parenting
Parenting is a year class emphasizing characteristics necessary for developing good parenting skills. Observations will be conducted with children of all ages. This is a Tech Prep course.
Family Living
Family Living is a senior class in family relationships that examines personality, mate selection, pregnancy, STD's, family life and other related topics.
Independent Living
Independent Living is a consumer class focusing on the aspects of consumer behaviors, food choices, nutrition, housing, personal finances and appliances.
Economics
Economics is a semester class that studies how individuals and nations make choices about how to fulfill their wants. It is for students in grades 10-12. During the semester students will discuss scarcity, economics systems, consumer economics, microeconomics and macroeconomics.
