Business Education Curriculum Descriptions
Accounting I--10 Credits - 1st and 2nd Semesters
Content: This course is designed to teach the student basic bookkeeping principles that can be applied to any bookkeeping system. The student is introduced to the double entry bookkeeping system as well as the different types of journals and ledgers. After completion of the course, a student should be able to manage a bookkeeping system for his or her personal use as well as for that of a small business. Accounting II--10 Credits - 1st and 2nd Semesters
Content: This advanced-course accounting text expands topics learned in the first-year course while adding new topics about management accounting, cost accounting, not-for-profit accounting, and financial analysis. The study of a second year of accounting helps qualify students for jobs and careers at higher levels than one year of study would allow. Business Communications--5 Credits - 2nd Semester

Introduction to Business/Principals of Management--5 Credits - 1st Semester
Content: The student will learn how business works. The student will study careers, effects of technology, social issues, economic issues, business law, ownership, production, selling, purchasing, business finance, credit, insurance, communications, human resources, salary, fringe benefits, planning organizing, and human relations. Computer Graphics--5 Credits/Semester- 1st and 2nd Semesters

Junior High Keyboarding--5 Credits - 7th Grade
Content: The student will learn to type by the touch method, using the proper techniques. The student will learn the letter, number and symbol keys. Speed and accuracy will be developed by drills and practice. The student will type the common business forms that they will need for personal use: announcements, letters, reports, tables, outlines, and memorandums.
