Freshman English is a course which meets the general English requirements for students in grade 9. The course introduces students to the types of literature and writing skills they will need in later courses. Units include novels, vocabulary, grammar and mechanics, short stories, poetry, drama and writing. Literature selections are based upon the reading levels of the students enrolled.
