Success in the classroom

The greatest success is achieved by the student who makes the greatest effort. Reviewing work for a few minutes daily is much more effective than cramming for a test the night before.

Makeup work should be completed as quickly as possible normally the next day. It is the student's responsibility to get any missed work, preferrably before the absence.

Help

I am available for help daily before and after school daily, and during access period on Monday through Thursday. If a student wishes to retake a test they have one week's time to make arrangements to do so. The second grade, better or worse, will be the grade entered.

Grading

The grade for the class is based on total points earned divided by total possible points. The usual point counts are: 10 points for homework and lab write-ups, 20-50 points for quizzes, 50-100 points for tests and projects

Biology Assessment

All Biology students will be participating in the Archdiocesian Science assessment. A recycling project that involves looking at the effects of their projects on the community is part of the Biology curriculum.
