Lady Flyers place 8th on the road

On Thursday,
September 27, the Lady Flyers traveled to Quail Run Golf Course in
Columbus for the final regular season competition of the year. The
18-hole Invite, hosted by Columbus Scotus, started at 9:00, with 12
teams attending.
Senior Ashley Korth of the
Lady Flyers shot a 46 on the Front 9 and a 48 on the back 9, combining
for a total of 94. Korth received an 11th place medal individually. „It
was challenging and very competitive,‰ said Korth.
Junior Jenna Bender carded a 102 on the day, while fellow classmates
Mallory Sjuts and Jenna Schrant shot scores of 113 and 129
respectively. When asked about the caliber of teams at the invite,
Sjuts commented, they were some of the best teams we played all year.
Junior Savannah Ayala brought in the alternate score for the Flyers with a total of 134 strokes.
The Lady Flyers placed 8th out of 12 teams, with a total score of 438
strokes. In first place was Beatrice with 351 strokes. In second place
was Pius X with a score of 367 and in 3rd place were the girls of
Battle Creek, with a score of 378.
The Lady Flyers are now finished with regular season play and will compete at Districts in Atkinson on Tuesday, October 2.
