IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPARENT / TEACHER ORGANIZATION - Sunrise
Elementary School would like to invite all parents, grandparents, and
friends of Sunrise students to come to our Parent / Teacher
Organization meetings. Meetings are held at Sunrise Elementary the first Monday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May. Babysitting is provided. EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBERS With winter fast approaching and the possibility of having to dismiss school early because of the weather, please
keep the classroom teacher updated with all changes of emergency
telephone numbers. It is also important for the school to have emergency
phone numbers should your son or daughter get ill at school. STORM EMERGENCIES: Each
year, Mr. Calvert, Lakeview Community Schools Superintendent, is faced
with the decision of closing school because of severe weather.
Basically, this decision is made after closely monitoring weather
reports and forecasts, as well as considering visibility, drifting, and
the road conditions. The decision will then be made whether school
will be open or delayed to a later starting time. If at all possible,
this decision will be made by 7:30 A.M. and announced on Radio Stations KLIR FM 101 and KZ 100 FM as well as the scheduled time on Channel 10, KOLN-TV. We specifically want to ask your cooperation at this time by NOT
calling the school to ask for information about school closing.
Please stay posted by listening to the radio and TV sets for any
information. It is important that we keep the school line open for our
own communication needs. School
will be held and the regular school day followed regardless of weather
conditions unless announced otherwise.PARENT AND GRANDPARENT VOLUNTEERS are needed to help students during the school day with math and/or reading.
