Sunrise Luau a Big Success!

About
ALOHA! Sunrise Elementary School celebrated the end of the third quarter and the end of winter with a Luau. Last January, students attended a Bon Voyage party as a kick-off to our third quarter reading incentive program. Students boarded their ships and they were off to Hawaii - wikiwiki! For every book read, the students' ships sailed two miles toward their destinations. March 9 was the final day of sailing and on March 15 students who made their goal received their tickets to the Luau. Hawaiian food, lei making, and learning the hula from Lynette of Lynette's Dance Studio were among the activities students enjoyed. Students and their teachers all enjoyed the fun with laughter, giggling, wiggling, and lots of food. Students are now sailing back across the Pacific Ocean toward Mexico and those who make their 4th Quarter goals will attend an end-of-the-year Fiesta! ¡Hasta la vista!
