Life on a Farm

    Hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream, pizza, candy bars! No, it's not our favorite lunch menus. It's "Life on a Farm!"
   Our Third Grade Class attended Life on a Farm on March 14, 2007. Life on a Farm, sponsored by the Platte County Extension Service, was held at Ag Park. We learned about various farm animals, their owners, and how agriculture in Nebraska affects our everyday lives. Our class also learned that almost all of our foods contain eggs and a lot of our everyday items such as crayons, cooking oil, ink, and biodiesel come from soybeans. We learned about safety in the farm challenge and proved that through teamwork we could pull a huge tractor. We also got to cuddle baby goats and lambs, pet Rocky, a huge Clydesdale horse, and watch a sheep sheering demonstration.
   We would like to thank Jim, Lisa, and all of the presenters for a wonderful field trip.
