Week of November 10, 2008

Monday:Group 1- Reading: Reviewed context clues and tested over story.  Group 2- Reading: Introduced vocabulary.  We were introduced to plural nouns.  We wrote the number 40 and subtracted 1 from a number.  We began a study of rocks.  We were introduced to the phonograms si-"sh", "zh" used at the beginning of any syllable after the first one and ci-"sh" short "sh" used at the beginning of any syllable after the first one.

Tuesday: Group 1- Reading: Reviewed short vowels, vocabulary, and read A Vet Group 2- Reading: Read and discussed The Bug Bath.    We wrote the number 41 and subtracted 1 a number.  Half of the class had library skills the others worked on phonograms.

Wednesday: Group 1- Reading: Reviewed story, vocabulary, main idea, and did more work with maps.  Group 2- Reading: Read our little reader and worked with a map.  We wrote the number 42 and counted by 10's using dimes.  Mr. Koziol came in and talked about respect. 

Thursday: Group 1- Reading: Reviewed story elements and main idea.  Group 2- Reading: Reviewed short i, o, a, and ck.  We learned plural nouns may end with "s" or "es".  We wrote the number 43 and practiced counting by 2's.  We went to the CVCV amd made turkeys, sang songs, and did dances with them.

Friday: Group 1- Reading: Reviewed adding "ed" to a verb, context clues, and read our little readers.  Group 2- Reading: Reviewed story elements, adding "ed" to a verb, and tested over the story.  We had more practice with plural nouns.  We were assessed over skills we have been working on in math.  We did more rock activities.

Math vocabulary: dime

Show and Tell: Group A-Bring things you are thankful for.

Tuesday: Andrew, Bryce, Catherine, Mason, Monica Jordan, Grant

Thursday: Jacob, Eva, Joe, Jenny, Sammy, Trevor
