GRADING POLICY AND EXPECTATIONS
Home
About
The following will be the guidelines I will follow in my grading policy. Students will be graded in two areas.
They include:
1. Effort, Attitude, and Conduct.
2. Concerts and Performances.
1. Effort, Attitude, and Conduct. At least one grade will be given each week that will reflect a combination of these two areas. The following will be the desired behavior that the student will adhere to, to receive an "A" grade in class.
Effort - The student will
1. always participate when asked to during rehearsals.
2. work to improve their body position during rehearsals.
3. use proper voice techniques to the best of their ability.
Attitude - The student will:
1. realize that following the directors directions will
improve both themselves, as well as the group.
2. realize that working with everyone in the group is
essential for the success of the group.
3. realize that even though they may not enjoy a composition
at first, if they continue with their best through
completion they may, or may not, change their mind.
Conduct - The students will:
1. never talk when directions are being given, or while they
are to be participating.
2. never have gum or anything else in their mouth during
class.
3. never use profanity.
4. never use rough physical behavior.
5. never mistreat music or any equipment in the room.
"A" - Always "B" - Most of the time "C" - Needs improvement
"D" - Hardly ever "F" - Never uses desired behavior
2. Concerts and Performances. Attendance is required.
They are major tests which if missed, may result in failure.
Only extreme health emergencies, or a death in the family will
be excused. A phone call from your parents is necessary.
Jobs are not an excuse. You will be notified far enough in
advance to notify your employer of your abscence.
